ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION

The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research. Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

They offer Educational Programs, Support Groups, Social Engagement Programs, and many Support Service Programs: 

  1. Care Counseling

  2. Adult Day Programs

  3. Dementia Supportive Services

  4. Respite Care

AREA AGENCY ON AGING 1-B

The Area Agency on Aging 1-B (AAA 1-B) is a nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization with a rich history of supporting older adults, people with disabilities and family caregivers in southeast Michigan. They are part of a national network of Area Agencies on Aging and a leader in aging services in a six-county region that includes Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair and Washtenaw counties. They help people access the services and programs they need to remain living independently and with dignity in their own home or with family caregivers. We provide direct care programs for seniors, along with funding and support for many programs provided by our community partner organizations.

EASTER SEALS

As America’s largest nonprofit health care organization, Easter Seals is committed to the comprehensive health and wellness of the more than 1.4 million people it serves each year. 

Among their services: early intervention, medical rehabilitation, adult day services and employment opportunities for older adults – in addition to a variety of additional services for people of all ages including mental health and recovery programs, assistive technology, camp and recreation, caregiving support including respite – and much more. 

HEALTH IN AGING FOUNDATION

The Health in Aging Foundation is a national non-profit established in 1999 by the American Geriatrics Society to bring the knowledge and expertise of geriatrics healthcare professionals to us all as we age.

Through the Health in Aging Foundation, they advance their commitment to maintaining the health, independence, and quality of life of all older adults by increasing public awareness and providing access to needed resources.

HealthinAging.org is the Foundation’s public education portal, providing older adults and caregivers with up-to-date information on health and aging—as well as access to a network of geriatrics healthcare professionals.

MORC

MORC, Inc. is a human services organization that coordinates long-term supports for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities and the elderly in Southeast Michigan. They coordinate primarily Medicaid funded services that give support in all areas of life including living arrangements, daily life skills, education, employment and community integration. 

 

The goal of their services is to empower people to maximize their potential. MORC serves over 6,000 individuals a year throughout their network.

Region VII Area Agency on Aging

Region VII Area Agency on Aging is a human services organization that coordinates long-term supports for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities and the elderly in North Eastern Michigan. They offer aging program service information on a range of assistance for older adults and those who care for them. Among their services: mobility assistance programs, meal plans & housing, assistance in gaining access to services, individual counseling, support groups and caregiver training, respite care, supplemental services, and more.
